KINGS OF LEON ANNOUNCE BAND OF HORSES ANNOUNCED AS SPECIAL GUESTS!
US rockers Kings Of Leon may have had to postpone their Australian tour, but there’s no doubt we’re in the band’s thoughts, with the awesome news that they’ll be bringing out their friends Band Of Horses with them for the whole Australian tour!
Kings Of Leon were forced to postpone their March 2011 tour to November after drummer Nathan required surgery for a shoulder injury. Doctors have confirmed that Nathan is now well recovered though and the band have announced they can’t wait to kick off the follow up their massive sell out 2009 tour;
"Thanks to our fans for their understanding in us having to move the tour. We are happy to report that Nathan is recovering well. We love Australia and can't wait to be with you this spring." And clearly Nathan has recovered well with the boys recently rocking out to a massive crowd at the hugely
popular Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California:
“Kings of Leon were headliners for a reason. Their southern rockabilly twang was exactly what everyone was
waiting for.” – Glidemagazine.com
“Kings of Leon definitely put on an impressive big rock show. The Followill clan came out strong right out of
the gate with the ominous "Closer," Jarod's dirty bass grooves on "Crawl" and Nathan's jittery rhythms during
the hit ‘Radioactive’.”- Newwavegeo.blogspot.com
“Newsflash to Kings of Leon: You've made it. You're right where you want to be.” – LA Times
Adding to the excitement is the news that US indie rock ensemble Band Of Horses will be returning to
Australia as special guests for the Kings Of Leon’s tour.
Currently touring the U.S. with Kings Of Leon, Band of Horses jumped at the opportunity to visit their
Australian fans and continue touring with the Tennessee natives.
Band Of Horses were most recently in Australia last winter to celebrate the release of their third studio album,
the widely acclaimed Infinite Arms which was nominated for a 2010 Grammy Award and featured in numerous
yearly roundup lists.
“You could tell we were going to be treated to American music by a group that definitely can kick out country,
melancholia, and anthemic rock and roll with ease.” – Fasterlouder.com.au
Infinite Arms received rave reviews all across the globe:
“This hirsute alt-country quintet stretch out and swing for the fences on their excellent third long-player.” –
Sydney Morning Herald
“Frontman Ben Bridwell's airy vocals and cozy lyrics have stayed consistent, but the impressive production
work by the band and Phil Ek places the gorgeous melodies front and center without sacrificing Band of
Horses' rustic power.” – Billboard.com
“A much bigger, more spacious sound has been achieved without sacrificing intimacy or their old elemental
sense of wonder. These are songs that reach for the sky yet speak to you personally.” – Guardian.co.uk
