nib Stadium, Home of Perth Glory & Western Australian Rugby League for another 3 Years!

Premier sporting associations Perth Glory and Western Australia Rugby League have signed venue agreements for a further 3 years at nib Stadium.

Perth Glory have been pegged as one of the top teams to watch in this year’s Hyundai A-League soccer series. All home games will be played at nib Stadium. First game kicks off on Friday 6th August and will include an eager line up of players including highly coveted Robbie Fowler.

Western Australia Rugby League have also signed up for another 3 years at nib Stadium as they steam towards securing an NRL franchise in Perth in 2013. WARL will continue to host highly competitive NRL trial matches in 2011 and 2012 at nib Stadium, with details for next year’s match to be released soon.

Chief Executive Officer of nib Stadium, Peter Bauchop said, “We couldn’t be more excited to continue to host Perth Glory at nib Stadium. The talent on the team this season in sure to make for very exciting football and we acknowledge Tony Sage and his team in their efforts in building the game.

We also look forward to continuing work with the Western Australia Rugby League in their bid for a Perth NRL franchise for 2013. If successful this will offer Perth sports fans an exceptional array of professional sporting matches at nib Stadium and take the NRL competition to a true national format while showcasing Perth and it’s sporting talents.”

Paul Kelly, Perth Glory CEO said, “Perth Glory is delighted to play our home games at nib Stadium for the next three seasons. We are working towards a home final in 2011 and continued success in the years to follow.”

John Sackson, WARL CEO was also happy with the outcome and said, “The WARL is very pleased to continue its partnership with nib Stadium. The venue has always received rave reviews from visiting NRL players, coaches and officials and if we are successful with our bid proposal, it will become the home of a Perth-based NRL franchise in 2013.”
